Silver Knight Showdown & Keegan Shines in Week 2

 Week 2 of the College Baseball season featured two current Silver Knights going toe to toe, as well as a past Knight kicking things off with a bang.


VCU - Connor Hujsak got the start in all three games againt Elon. He showed great comfort at the plate, hitting .333 in the series with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Hujsak is now hitting .286 through his first 4 collegiate games.


Elon - Relief pitcher Tristan Corcoran took the mound for his third appearance on the young season. He tossed 2 innings of scoreless baseball, striking out 3 and allowing just 1 hit. He also matched up against his future teammate, Connor Hujsak, and got him to pop out in foul territory. Elon took the series from VCU 2-1.


Vanderbilt - Vandy got a slightly delayed jump on the season, with their opening weekend being delayed, but that didn't stop them from going 6-1 in their opening week. Highlighting the offense was none other than 2020 Silver Knight first baseman Dominic Keegan. Keegan hit .600 through 7 games while also notching 4 doubles, a triple, 2 home runs, and 7 RBIs. Keegan racked up 21 total bases in just the first week of the season.


Boston College - Facing the #11 team in the nation, Boston College showed their strength as they took 2 of 3 games from the Duke Blue Devils. 2016 Silver Knight Dante Baldelli continued his strong start to the season, hitting .250 in the series while driving in a run. Baldelli is currently hitting .280 on the season. 2018 Silver Knight, Cody Morissette also had a hit in the series. Cody also drew 4 walks in the 3 games. BC improves to 5-1 on the season.
