Arend Does It All In Final Regular Season Game

(Westfield, MA): Nashua finished out the 2020 regular season with a 4-3 win on the road

against Westfield on Wednesday night, never surrendering the lead.
Nashua jumped out in front in the 2 nd inning. Dylan Jones (Franklin Pierce) got a good swing and
collected a double before scoring on a Jack Arend RBI single. Westfield tied the game in the 3 rd

In the 6 th , Nashua would get 3 more to finish their scoring. John Mead (Franklin Pierce) led off
the inning with a triple, before being singled home by Brett Anderson (Hartford). Anderson
would score on an Arend 2-run home run, his first of the summer. Westfield got 2 back in the
home 6 th , with two 2-RBI doubles being hit with one out.
The story of the night, after we saw Ben Malgeri hit for the cycle at Holman stadium, is Jack
Arend. Arend played all nine positions in 9 innings on his way to FCBL player of the night,
including the save. This also gave the Knights the ability to highlight pitcher of the night, Jack
Dicenso (Nichols) in a ND for the FCBL.
This game was one that required a lot of the discipline and drive to compete into August.
Michael Mathews (Salve Regina) took the loss against the Silver Knights. He gave up 3H, 3ER,
3BB and no strikeouts. Mike Rounds (UMass) got the win foe Nashua, going 0.2IP, giving up 1R
on 2H, 2BB, and 2K. Jack Arend (Nichols) got the save for Nashua.
Nashua finishes the regular season at 23-16 overall with game one of the Championship on
