Late Rally in Brockton

It was a pitcher's duel in Brockton as Nashua starter Patrick Harrington (Assumption) took the bump against the Rox starter, Matt Svanson (Lehigh). Neither starter allowed a run while they were on the field, Harrington tossed 5 scoreless. While Svanson went 6. Between both starters, and 11 innings of play, only 10 baserunners were allowed.

The first run of the game was pushed across in the bottom of the 8th as George Welch (Saint Joe's) gave up an RBI to Jack Rose (Hartford)

The Silver Knight's would not go quietly in the final frame though, a single and free passes loaded up the bases for Ben Cowles (Maryland). Cowles worked the count full with one out and the bases loaded, pitch number 6 was ball 4, tying the ballgame at 1.

A late entry to the ball game, Jack Arend (Bates) stepped up for his second at bat of the night and came up big for the Knights. He uncorked a 3-RBI double to right field to give the Silver Knights a 3 run lead.

That was all Jack Pawloski (UMass) would need to finish this one out. He threw the final 2 innings of the game, picking up his first W of the season.

The Knights are back in action for a double header (3 & 6:30pm) at home taking on rival Worcester Bravehearts. The Bravehearts sit one spot ahead of the Silver Knights in the current FCBL standings. A sweep of Worcester would put Nashua ahead of them by half a game.
