Pat Devlin's Big Knight Gives Nashua Nail Biting Win
Lynn, MA – RHP Lamarre Rey (Bentley University) made his sixth start of the season for the Silver Knights. He went 4 innings giving up 0 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks and striking out 5. The Silver Knights took an early 3-0 in the first two innings with RBI singles by Jon Minucci (Southern New Hampshire University), Pat Devlin (UMass Lowell) and Sean Lyons (Northeastern University).
In the fifth inning North Shore tied the game with 3 runs. The inning started off with Brad Elwood (Charlotte) doubling to deep right and eventually scored on an error by the pitcher on a pickoff attempt. Tim Hendricks (Benedictine) scored on a balk and Andrew Harris (Vanderbilt University) singled home Jake McGuiggan (Harvard) to tie the game.
In the 8th the Silver Knights took the lead when Pat Devlin drew a bases loaded walk with two outs. Nashua native Connor Root (Bentley University) pitched 2 innings allowing 0 runs on 2 hits, 0 walks and striking out 2. He picked up his first win of the season for his efforts. Matt Olsen (Stonehill) came in for his 3rd save of the season. Nashua wins 4-3!!!
