Knights Fall Short at Home

The Starfires were off and running early on this Thirsty Thursday in Nashua. Very quickly they were up to a commanding 6-0 lead entering the bottom half of the 5th. In the bottom of the 5th, the Knights were able to scrape their first run across thanks to a bases loaded walk to Jared Dupere (Northeastern). After giving up another 2 runs in the 6th, Nashua faced an 8-1 defecit going into the final 3 innings of the ballgame.

The bats came to life as Dupere and Mike La Rocca (SNHU) each drove in a run. Now down 8-3 in the 8th, the Knights kept fighting. This time it was a bases loaded, bases clearing double from Billy Butler (URI). However, this would be the end of the rally for Nashua as they would go quietly in the 9th, falling to Westfield 8-6.

The Knights head out to Worcester on Friday to take on the Bravehearts. The Silver Knights are currently in line to be the 6 seed in this year's playoffs.
